Our January kitchen residents will be Malaysian supper-club specialists Wild Serai. In their own words:

Fresh, aromatic and exotic,serai(Malay for lemongrass) is an essential ingredient in South East Asian & Malaysian cooking. Wild Serai is a nostalgic celebration of the very best of Malaysian cooking, with a strong Malay and Nyonya influence. We both have a diverse cultural heritage, being part Iban, part Basque, part English and & Portugese-Eurasian! For this special pop-up residency at The King & Co we will be joined by Papa Wild Serai & Sharif’s sister Nerea. Together we will pick and source the very best ingredients from Malaysia, ranging from a range of 15 different spices that go into our slow cooked melt in your mouth ox cheek & beef short-rib rendang to the very hard to get, Bintulu Belacan. We hope to delight you with some of our favourite Malaysian street food dishes & a more elaborate weekend feasting menu. With that promise in mind, we hope you will be able to come & treat your tastebuds to some good old fashioned, home cooked Malaysian soul food – just the way Nenek (Grandmother) used to make it.”
