If you love Thai food then you are in for a treat throughout August & September as Tam Ban Thai will be in residence, bringing their fresh take on traditional Thai food to Clapham.
Tem Ban’s founder & Head Chef Craig Broadhurst has spent nearly a decade honing his culinary expertise & focused understanding of Thai cuisine. Craig’s passion for Thai food was first awakened whilst training with some of London’s best Thai chefs at prominent restaurant The Begging Bowl in Peckham, & developed even further whilst working at Andy Oliver’s hugely popular Thai Grill at Bar Story, plus as a ten month stint as Sous Chef at the critically acclaimed Smoking Goat. Following on from Tem Ban’s sell-out successful launch series at award-winning poolside venue The Lido Cafe in nearby Herne Hill, Craig is now bringing his fresh take on traditional Thai flavours to The King & Co with his first extended pub residency.
Guests joining us during August & September can enjoy a sensational new menu celebrating the richness & vibrancy of Thai ingredients, which combines the fragrant & rustic elements of traditional Thai streetfood with modern cooking techniques. All made using great quality British produce, Tem Ban’s renowned small plates like Deep Fried Grey Mullet & Star Fruit Salad & “Nam Prik Pao” shredded pigs’ ears with burnt sour red chilli sauce are sure to tantalise the tastebuds. The ideal feast to share with friends, the pop-up’s Southeast Asian large plates will showcase a wide array of textures & flavours, such as “Khao Soi Gai” free-range chicken Chang Mai curried noodles with pickles & crispy noodle topping, & “Hang Lae” pork belly curry with ginger & peanuts. Promising a regularly rotating evening menu as well as exclusive daily specials & a refreshing Thai twist on classic British brunch dishes at weekends, our latest residency collaboration is a unique dining experience not to be missed!
