June Kitchen Resident: Eastern Bloc Peckham (Sundays & Mondays ONLY)

05 Jun 2017 // All day

We are doing things a bit differently in June by having TWO amazing kitchen residents cooking up a storm each week. Every Sunday & Monday will see Eastern Bloc cook their Peckham-inspired Eastern European cuisine. While Tuesday-Saturday will see Fowl Mouths Food return to cook their Japanese comfort food that was so popular last year. Got it?

So a bit more info on Eastern Bloc. In their own words…

Eastern Bloc is a Peckham inspired Eastern European food venture started in 2015. Inspired by Peckham’s wild & ever changing produce & infused into traditional Eastern European recipes, its aim is to give people a taste of the unfamiliar, with a rotating menu that’s all about grilling, charring & smoking, be it vegetables or exciting cuts of meat. Rewind back to two summers ago, you’d find us making hot sauces with freshly discovered Peckham ingredients, fast forward & we’ve been cooking away in some of Peckham’s most iconic venues, Peckham Springs, Four Quarters arcade bar, The Hope & The Peckham Pelican to name a few. Smokey, crispy, corny polenta fries, charred aubergines & melt in your mouth triple-cooked pork bellyare just some of our signature dishes. But also expect other new & exciting dishes such as buffalo cauliflower tacos & slow-cooked lamb arancini that will feature on our brunch menu & make an appearance on the specials board. Excited to get our hands nice & greasy with some Sunday roasts, we’re cooking up a slow-cooked, home-made ginger beer braised pork belly with a smokey garlic & okra potato salad & some citrus kale. Bring on June!”

Serving every Sunday & Monday until 2nd July
